Alright Darling is a collectable zine, packed with editorial style photoshoots and interviews with some of the queer scene's most recognisable faces, alongside emerging talent. Alright Darling first started life as a tumblr page filled with Drag, art, porn, comedy, pretty much everything visual that stimulated my interest.
Issue one Featured The AAA girls being let loose in an American Apparel store, Frankmusik's first time in drag, Pearl getting ready for a gig in Brighton, Cabaret darling Joe Black, and Drag Queens of London's Meth.
We printed a total of 325 copies of issue one, producing 150 of Alaska, 100 of Willam, and 75 of Courtney. We decided on these numbers by researching each cover girls popularity on their social media accounts. We sold exclusively through our webstore, promoting via our social media accounts and also getting each cover girl to promote their issue plus linking back to the store. We promptly sold out of our entire stock.
By producing three covers it meant we opened up sales to three different fan bases, but also gave the customer the option to collect all three covers, which was the case for many of our sales.
We also have shareable exclusive online content, that isn't in our printed issues. We feel this keeps the brand from going stale in between issues and gives a platform for more contributors.
In issue two we have three more drag race Alumni as cover stars, fan favourite of season seven Katya, quirky queen of season six Milk, and Winner of season five Jinkx Monsoon who is interviewed by close friend Joe Black. We also have an interview and spread with designer Elliot Rentz who's work has been seen on Lady Gaga and Rose Mcgowan to name just two. We also have a speed and interview with DJ and trans spokeswoman Munroe Bergdorf.
We have two advertisers within this issue, Slick It Up who are a close friend and longtime supporter of Alright Darling, and we also have a cool New York watch company Nooka who are taking our back cover and have also given as some of their products to be featured in some of our photoshoots.
Alright Darling is a brand that is steadily growing, and is gaining a strong fan base. We would love it if you would consider us to be stocked in your stores.
